If you are looking for a lovely younger Cavalier who wants to be with you but is a bit independent too, please consider beautiful Lucy in Minnesota with the big brown eyes. She is waiting for you. Lucy is looking for a home either as an only dog or one with a male companion around her age, no cats please, and respectful children over age 12. Her adoptive family should be committed to maintaining her weight at her current 20 lbs., which is just perfect for her frame. Lucy enjoys both eating and sleeping peacefully and undisturbed. Her foster mom has discovered she does best on a diet that is grain-free and formulated with a protein other than chicken. She may want to run now, but restricted activity will be best. Due to the knee and hip issues, a home which could provide her with low activity, is best. A regiment of Laser therapy, muscle strengthening exercises, anti-inflamatory and pain meds could provide her with many years of good quality and mobility. She is currently on a regimen of inexpensive glucosamine supplements and fish oil for her luxating patellas, which do not require surgery at this time but long term, her knees, combined with her hips could need surgery or could cause severe lameness as she ages. Lucy is without any heart murmur at this time. There is an added bonus with this girl that makes homelife so much easier - she is reliably housetrained, and she “loves her crate.”

She walks well on a leash, knows ‘sit’, alerts to doorbell or passersby, and can catch a treat in midair! Of course, that’s when she’s not snuggling by your side or enjoying a nap on the big bed. Three-and-a-half year old Lucy is so ready for her new home! She has transformed into a sleek, fit, trim, and very happy girl.
